Introduction

Spark.E Chat enables learners to interact directly with their study materials and receive instant, AI-powered explanations and guidance. By analyzing uploaded content such as lecture slides and notes, it provides context-aware support tailored to each learner’s coursework. Empowering learners to deepen their understanding, study more efficiently, and build confidence in their learning.

Accessing Spark.E Chat

The Spark.E Chat can be accessed at any time from the left side panel and is also available within other features throughout the platform, allowing users to engage with it in whichever way is most convenient.

Accessing Spark.E Chat from the Left Panel

  1. On the left-hand side of your dashboard click Chat .

  2. The Spark.E Chat interface will open and be ready for you to use immediately.

Accessing Spark.E Chat Within Platform Features

The Spark.E Chat feature is also accessible within select platform features. Refer to the sections below for instructions on how to access Spark.E Chat within each specific feature.

Notes & Materials

  1. After opening your desired Study Set, navigate to the left-hand side of your dashboard and select the note file or material you want to open, located under the Your Notes section.

  2. The Spark.E Chat side panel will automatically open on the right-hand side of your note.

Tutor Me

  1. After starting your Tutor Me session, the Chat side panel will automatically appear on the right-hand side of the screen.

  2. Within Tutor Me, users can interact with Spark.E by typing messages in the chat box or by speaking directly using the microphone.
  3. The Chat side panel also serves as a real-time transcript, capturing your conversation throughout the session.

QuizFetch

  1. After starting your Quiz, the Spark.E Chat side panel will automatically appear on the right-hand side of the screen.

  2. Within QuizFetch, users can interact with Spark.E by typing messages in the chat box

Test

  1. After completing a Practice Test, select View Answers.

  2. You will then be able to review your graded Practice Test. The Spark.E Chat side panel will automatically appear on the right-hand side of the screen.

  3. Use the Spark.E Chat to ask questions or explore topics in more depth. To discuss a specific question, select Chat About This Question next to the item you want to review.

  4. You can then type your question in the chat box

Flashcards

  1. When studying flashcards, the Spark.E Chat side panel will automatically appear on the right-hand side of the screen.

How to use the Chat feature

  1. Go to the lefthand side > choose Chat Image of the Dashboard, hovered over "Chat"
  2. You will now be able to start a new chat session with Spark.E, your AI Tutor.\\ images/Screenshot2025-03-21at10.39.40AM.png
  3. Click on Spark.E’s icon to choose the Personality & Skillset of your AI Tutor. images/Screenshot2025-03-21at10.35.43AM.png
  4. You can also choose among the AI Tutor Persona Presets, each with a distinct teaching style. Image of the AI Tutor Persona prompt
  5. You may also choose to customize your own Spark.E Image of the Create your own Spark.E prompt
  6. Once you’ve saved your selection, your AI Tutor will adjust the way they teach Image of the chat session, with a new question showing the chosen Spark.E personality
  7. On the bottom of your chat box, you have multiple options, such as adding an image to specify your questions, using Web Browsing to search the web for information, Search Academic Papers to limit the search to academically published works, or you may also use your own materials to study Image of the bottom of the chat box, with multiple action buttons to choose from To do this, select the material you’d like to study > choose Confirm Selection Image showing the available materials to choose from
  8. Spark.E will now be able to tutor you based on the materials you have chosen Image of the Chat session, showing the selected materials
  9. Check the upper left corner of your chat box to view all your chats in Chat History, and click any to switch back to previous conversations Image of the top of the chat box, showing the All Chats selection dropdown
  10. Next is the New option to create a new chat Image of the top portion of the chat box, hovered over "New" saying "Click to create a new chat"
